Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the BareCast app for iPhone ("BareCast", "the app") handles information. It also covers the BareCast page on builtintheattic.com.
1. Summary
- BareCast does not collect any personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it contains no third-party code that does.
- BareCast does not send anything over the internet to the developer or to anyone else. The only online connection it makes is to Apple's App Store, to check whether you have bought BareCast Pro.
- Everything BareCast stores (photos you take, your logo, your text and your settings) stays on your iPhone, under your control.
- The developer never sees your camera image. BareCast does not record video, and nothing you show is transmitted to the developer.
2. Who is responsible for the app
BareCast is made and published under the Built in the Attic brand. The developer and publisher is:

Because the app sends no data to the developer, the developer is not the controller of data processed by the app on your device. The developer is the controller only of the data described in sections 10 and 11 (email contact and website).
3. Permissions the app requests

Choosing a logo uses Apple's system photo picker. The app receives only the single image you pick and has no access to the rest of your library.
The app does not request access to location, microphone, contacts, calendars, Health data or the advertising identifier. You can change the camera and Photos permissions at any time in iPhone Settings → BareCast. BareCast cannot work without camera access.
4. What happens on your device
Everything below happens only on your iPhone. The developer has no access to it.

Deleting BareCast removes the logo, text and settings stored by the app. Photos you saved stay in your photo library until you delete them there. They are managed by the Photos app and iOS, including iCloud Photos if you have turned it on.
5. Screen Mirroring (AirPlay)
Sending your screen to a projector, TV or Mac is done by iOS Screen Mirroring, not by BareCast. You choose the receiver in Control Center, and the image travels directly from your iPhone to that device. BareCast has no part in this connection and no access to it. The owner of the receiving device (for example a school or a venue) may have its own rules about what happens to the signal.
6. In-app purchases
BareCast Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment. The developer does not receive your name, email address, payment details or Apple Account. The app checks only whether your Apple Account holds a valid purchase of BareCast Pro, so it can remove the session limit. Payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
7. Diagnostics shared by Apple
If you enable sharing with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide the developer with anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. They cannot identify you and are used only to fix bugs. You can turn this off in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. The developer also receives aggregated sales and download numbers from Apple, which do not identify individual users.
8. What you show - your responsibility
BareCast shows a live image to your audience and lets you save photos. You decide what you point the camera at, show and save, and you need the right to do so. In particular:
- Obtain the required consent before showing or photographing other people, especially patients, clients, pupils or children. For a child, consent must come from a parent or legal guardian.
- Keep confidential documents, personal data and medical information out of the frame if your audience should not see them.
- Photos you take are stored in your own photo library. Storing, sharing and deleting them in line with the law and the professional rules that apply to you (for example confidentiality or medical records rules) is up to you.
- When the photo library opens to choose a logo, everyone watching can see it. BareCast warns you before it opens.
The developer does not receive or see anything you film or photograph, and therefore is not the controller of that content.
9. Children
BareCast is a tool for adults who present, teach or train. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Section 8 explains the rules for showing minors.
10. Email contact
If you write to the address in section 2, the developer processes your email address and message solely to reply. The legal basis is the legitimate interest of handling correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the matter, and no longer than 12 months, unless the law requires longer. They are not shared with anyone other than the developer's email provider, Google (Gmail). If the provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this is based on standard contractual clauses or a European Commission decision.
Please do not send photos of people or health information by email.
11. Website
The website builtintheattic.com, including the BareCast page, is informational only. It does not use tracking cookies or analytics tools.
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Its servers may automatically record basic technical data about visits in server logs (IP address, date and time, browser type) to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is the developer's legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not used to identify visitors and is kept for the period set by the hosting company.
12. Security
Because BareCast does not transmit your information or store it on any server, nothing leaves your device through the app. Its protection depends on the security of your iPhone, so use a passcode and keep iOS up to date.
13. Your rights
For data the developer controls (sections 10 and 11), you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability. To use these rights, write to builtintheattic@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl), or with the authority in your country of residence.
Data stored by the app (section 4) is under your direct control on your iPhone.

14. Changes to this policy
If BareCast changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example a new feature that needs internet access, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the new version will be published at https://builtintheattic.com/apps/barecast/privacy-policy/ with a new effective date.
15. Governing law and contact
This policy is governed by Polish law and the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council). Privacy questions: builtintheattic@gmail.com.
