TiltArc

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

1. Who is responsible for the app

The TiltArc app (the "App") is provided by:

Filip Lechowicz, email: builtintheattic@gmail.com

Referred to below as the "Developer".

2. The short version

  • The App does not collect personal data and does not send any information to the Developer.
  • No accounts, sign-in, server, ads, analytics or tracking.
  • The App does not send readings over the internet. The only connection it uses is Apple's App Store, and only when you buy or restore Pro.
  • Everything you save stays on your device. The Developer has no access to it and cannot read, recover or delete it.

3. What the App stores on your device

Only in your device's storage:

  • saved readings - date and time, angle value, and view (Arc Level or Inclinometer);
  • settings - e.g. haptics, sound, dominant hand, display precision, startup view, language;
  • calibration - a single correction value;
  • tutorial housekeeping - e.g. when it was last shown;
  • Pro status - whether Pro is active and how many free saves have been used;
  • active partner codes - if you enter one (the code is checked on the phone and never sent anywhere).

None of this is sent to the Developer or anyone else.

4. Motion sensors

The App reads the device's built-in motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to calculate the phone's tilt. Sensor readings are processed in real time in the device's memory and are never transmitted. Only a reading you choose to save with the "+" button is stored.

The App does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, Health data or the advertising identifier.

5. Exporting readings

With Pro you can export saved readings to a CSV file (date, time, angle value, view). The file is created only when you tap the export button, and you choose where it goes (e.g. Files, email, AirDrop) in the system Share sheet. The Developer never receives the file or any information that it was shared; the service you choose is responsible for what happens to it next.

6. Device backups

If device backups are turned on (iCloud or a backup on your computer), iOS may include the App's data, including saved readings. These backups are created and stored by Apple or your computer, under the settings you choose. The Developer has no access to them.

7. Apple, the App Store and buying Pro

You download the App from the App Store, operated by Apple. Pro is a one-time App Store purchase; Apple handles payment, receipts, refunds and promotional codes entirely. Apple processes the related data (e.g. about your Apple Account, the purchase and, if you allow it in your device settings, crash reports) as a separate, independent controller under its own privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

The Developer never receives your payment details, name or email address. From Apple it receives only aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as download numbers) and, if you allow it, anonymous crash reports. The App only asks iOS whether your Apple Account has an active Pro purchase.

8. Contacting the Developer

If you write to the Developer, the data in your message (email address, content and, if given, your name) is used only to reply and handle your request. The legal basis is the Developer's legitimate interest in corresponding with you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where your message concerns a contract, its performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle it and then until any related claims are time-barred. The email provider is Google (Gmail), which acts on the Developer's behalf.

9. Website

The App's website (builtintheattic.com) does not use cookies or analytics tools. It only remembers, in your own browser, the look you chose (light or dark) and whether the lamp on the homepage is switched on. This is never sent anywhere.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. On every visit, its servers automatically process technical connection data (e.g. IP address, date and time of the visit, browser type) to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is the Developer's legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working properly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not used to identify visitors.

10. Children

The App is a general-purpose utility and does not collect data about any users, including children.

11. Your rights

Where the Developer processes your personal data (e.g. in correspondence), you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. To use these rights, write to the address in section 1. You may also lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl).

You fully control the data in the App yourself: you can delete individual readings, and deleting the App removes all its data from the device.

12. Security

The App does not send readings anywhere, so there is no server or database they could leak from. Data in the App is protected by iOS, including device encryption when a passcode is set.

13. Changes to this policy

If the App changes in a way that affects privacy, I will update this policy and the date at the top. The current version is always available in the App (Help, About, the Pro screen) and at: https://builtintheattic.com/apps/tiltarc/privacy/
